Does the code work on yearly billing?

The code, and what it actually gets you

Chatwoot runs its Cloud affiliate programme on a single rule, published on its affiliate programme page: every affiliate gets a coupon that takes 5% off, and referrals are attributed by that coupon. There are no tiers of discount, no “exclusive” 20% codes for bigger channels, and no time-limited 50% codes. Five percent is the number, for everyone, on every paid plan.

So the code does one thing: 5% off each invoice of the subscription it is applied to, on the monthly plan and the yearly one, exactly as the Chatwoot Affiliate Program terms describe. Chatwoot’s published prices, which I break down on the Chatwoot pricing page, are $19, $39 and $99 per agent per month on annual billing, which puts the difference at:

For a five-person team on Business, the difference over a year comes to $117. That is a real number, and it is a small one. I would rather show you the small number than the invented big one, because the invented ones cost you time at the billing page and give you nothing.

Where to enter it: not on the checkout page

This is where most people get stuck. Chatwoot Cloud has no coupon field at signup. The code goes in after you have an account:

Sign up or log in to Chatwoot Cloud (I may earn a commission). The 15-day trial comes first, so you can apply the code once you are ready to pay.
Inside Chatwoot, open Settings → Billing and click through to the billing portal.
Choose your plan, then click Add promotional code, type ACHIYAVS, and press Apply.
Read the order summary. It should show the plan price with the discount removed before you press Submit. If it does not, the code has not been applied. Do not pay yet.

One more detail worth knowing: the referral link that affiliates share (the address with ?via= at the end) does not apply any discount by itself. Chatwoot’s programme tracks referrals by coupon code only. If you click a link and never type the code, you pay full price and nobody earns anything. Type the code.

Why every “70% off” Chatwoot code is fake

Search for a Chatwoot coupon and you will find pages promising START for 20% off, PINTU for 50%, KUMAR or MALIK for 60%, and assorted SAVE55, GET50 and 5OFFCODE entries, plus a few that advertise “70% off” or “$100 off” with no code at all. None of them appears on Chatwoot’s own pricing page.

None of these match a discount Chatwoot issues. The affiliate programme is 5% off (its published terms), full stop, so a code that promises a bigger number cannot be an affiliate code. And Chatwoot announces its own promotions on chatwoot.com, where none is listed. That leaves invented codes, codes copied from a different product, and codes that expired long ago.

Two honest qualifications, so this page does not overstate its own case:

Chatwoot can run its own promotions. If it does, it will say so on chatwoot.com, not on a coupon aggregator. I have not seen one in the nine months I have been in the programme.
Regional partners are a different arrangement. fazer.ai, Chatwoot’s official partner in Brazil, offers 15% off Enterprise licences under a partnership contract. That is a partner deal, not a promo code, and it is not available by typing a word into the billing page.

Everything else you see above the 5% discount is noise. The Chatwoot Affiliate Program page is the reference if you want to check the rule yourself.

Two things the code does not do

It does not discount self-hosted Chatwoot, because there is nothing to discount. The open-source edition is free to run on your own server, with no cap on agents, conversations or channels. If you are weighing that route, I measured what a production self-hosted install actually consumes: 348,703 messages on about 1.8 GB of RAM.
It does nothing on the Hacker plan. That tier is $0, capped at 2 agents and 500 conversations a month, and it keeps only 30 days of history. There is nothing to discount.

Before you pay: the plan detail that costs more than the coupon saves

The discount is nice. The thing that actually decides your bill is data retention. On Cloud, each tier keeps conversation history for a fixed period and removes what is older: Hacker keeps 30 days, Startups six months, Business one year, Enterprise two years. A support team that needs last year’s threads is a Business customer whether it planned to be or not, and that jump from $19 to $39 an agent is worth more than any discount code.
